The antibody is normally produced using the antigen of the μ mol order. It costs over three months to produce the antibody in conventional method. However, we have been achieved faster and easier methods. Our new technology requires a low quantity of antigen of the n mol order. Also we can produce the antibody in ten days or less using our new technology.


Tissue Engineering

Tissue engineering means performing tissue regeneration in a patient with a damaged organ/tissue by harvesting a very small amount of cells from the patient’s living tissue, cultivating them in vitro to a large quantity, and implanting them into the target organ/tissue.
Tissue engineering is expected to dramatically develop in the 21st century. Our company succeeded in the development of a carrier for 3D cell culture (product name: Bio Beads), the most important element in performing tissue regeneration. With this technology, we are on the cutting-edge in this field.

Culture space with a 3-dimensional structure is essential for conducting ideal cell cultures that allow for vital functions. Achieving the functions of such 3D culture space requires: (1) the use of materials not inhibiting cell proliferation, (2) securing of sufficient proliferation space, (3) promotion of the efficiency of cell proliferation, and (4) biodegradation of the carrier after the implantation of cultured cells as a regenerated tissue.

“Bio Beads”, mainly composed of hydroxyapatite (the same material making up our bones and teeth), are calcium phosphate ceramic beads. The excellent biocompatibility of calcium phosphate ceramics has a potential for serving as large-scale culture media not only for osteocytes and hematopoietic cells but also for other various cell types.

Bio Beads are characterized by having an adjustable diameter, an almost spherical shape, and a uniform particle size. These features provide cultured cells with optimal and uniform proliferation space similar to the environment in the target tissue/organ. Since it is mainly made of an absorbable bioceramic, Bio Beads can also be used as a carrier that can be with living tissue.

Bio Beads have the potential for causing a quantum leap in current medical practices and research activities. They will greatly contribute as a key technology to rapidly aging societies.
